The Cottage Beside The Point sits on a private park like landscaped 1.5 acre of property with beautiful gardens and a small pond. It is next door to a 23-acre farm and Cape May’s famous “bread lady”, who sells her home made brick oven bread several days a week, along with her farm grown organic veggies.
The Cottage is located on Sunset Blvd, which is an easy 2-mile drive to the center of town for all your shopping, dining and sightseeing needs. It is walking distance to the Cape May State Park and Lighthouse, the World War II Lookout Tower and Sunset Beach (with its beautiful sunset ceremony) as well as Cape May Point beaches
This tastefully decorated private second floor Studio Apartment was completely renovated in March 2023. The space is ideal for romantic weekend or a longer vacation. The interior Cottage and property is a smoke-free zone.

Our Story
We are grateful to have found the property that is now Cottage Beside the Point. This is the second house to sit on the grounds. The first house was a two hundred year old farmhouse that we fell in love 29 years ago. There is a story behind that of course, but we will just share that an intention to restore and expand the house was not to be and we found ourselves having to decide to sell the land or rebuild. With lots of prayers (offered up to any god or goddess, and/or universal power that would listen) and help from retirement plans and loving parents, we managed to build the home you now see. This is a dream come true for us.
With that sentiment, we welcome every guest and are overjoyed when they feel what we do when occupying the grounds and the space. We hope you feel the same when you stay at the Cottage Beside the Point!
